Description

In 2009, RJW introduced a delightful new series called The Mouse Seasons Collection based on the charming art of illustrator Racey Helps. “Annamarie & Fritz” – the Winter Mice – were the first pieces in the series. Now, we are happy to announce the addition of the Summer Mice – “Ida & Tom” – to the collection!

Ida measures a wee 3″ tall and is jointed at the neck and shoulders, is made entirely of fine mohair plush with realistic shading, resin hands and feet, glass pupil eyes, inset whiskers, and a leather tail.

Ida is the first russet-colored mouse from R. John Wright. She is based on a whimsical watercolor illustration by famed animal artist, Racey Helps. Ida is costumed in a simple summer frock made of fine cotton batiste and she comes seated in her wooden swing which hangs from the stem of a beautiful Shasta daisy! This delightful tableau setting includes additional daisies mixed with bright yellow buttercup flowers and leaves all handmade of felt – artistically shaded and mounted on a felt-covered wooden base. The entire piece measures 9″ tall X 9″ wide.

Did you know? The wooden seat of Ida’s swing was steamed to achieve a weathered, warped shape!

Ida will be limited to only 250 pieces. Tom is sold separately. The first 100 pieces in both editions will be sold as matched number sets. Each mouse will come enclosed in a deluxe R. John Wright presentation box with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration.
