5″ tall, Hisa Kato’s Gold Cub is made in combination of antique features and modern taste. This cub has two tone glass eyes and a sculpted nose to show wooden texture while his body is made of honey brown antique mohair fur that has been dyed a antique color. He is gently stuffed with sood excelsior. A worn rust color ribbon is gently tied around his neck.

Gold Cub is fully jointed.

About the Artist:
Residing in Tokyo, Japan – Hisa Kato has been making teddy bears for seventeen years. “The style of my teddy bears is different from the general idea of the teddy bear, especially in the proportion of the limbs and the way of using the materials”, states Hisa Kato when questioned on what differentiates her bears from other artist bears. Even before college, Hisa was actively involved in oil painting and sculpture; this led her into teddy bear making. She enjoys thinking about the unusual ways to use teddy bear materials when she designs a bear. Her other interests include watching movies, tarot card readings and pending time with her cats.
