At 11″ tall, Dunkan is a golden brown, sparse mohair bear with one black glass eye and one dull black glass eye. Dunkan is made to be old looking and well cared for. He is accessorized with a velvet ribbon collar that is attached to a small antique button. He is gently filled with polyfil, lavender and wood shavings.

Dunkan is fully jointed.

Richard Van Aalst loves to surprise his collectors with his ever-changing designs. Since 1992, Richland Bears have been the envy of artists and collectors. With a gift to create both miniature and larger bears effortlessly, Richard is a first class teddy bear artist.

Curtis, a bear Richard designed many years ago is his absolute favorite. The original lives with him and travels wherever he goes. “He’s my lucky charm”, jokes Richard. When asked about a favorite place, Richard replies “Tokyo. It is the best place for shopping and spending a lot of money. I love the people. I love the dinners. I love the culture. I love all of it!” In his spare time, Richard enjoys listening to music, painting modern art and spending time with his four cats.
