Sissel Bjorstad Skille

Sissel Skille has lived in Norway all her life. She has always loved to draw and to sculpt, and she has been passionate about dolls since she was a little girl. Sissel started her professional life as a grade-school teacher. Then, in 1980, at the age of 35, Sissel decided to combine her talents and her passion and to begin making her own dolls; a new career was launched. The inspiration for Sissel’s art comes not only from the expressions and faces of real children in her life or from photographs but also from other dolls, both antique and new.
